These permits are valid for 5 years, after which the relevant certificate of conformity will be required again. After the issuance of historic car plates, this car must be deleted from the Vehicle Registration License Register of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and registered in the Register of Vehicles of Historical Interest.

Competent body for the classification and issuance of marketing authorization military vehicles will be the Ministry of National Defense for military vehicles that have been manufactured for the transport of passengers and have been utilized by the Greek armed forces.

Conditions for free movement of historic cars.

They are allowed to circulate on the small ring road while paying traffic fees, with the exception of vehicles over 45 years old and motor vehicles of historical interest that have not been built for the transport of passengers.

  1. In order to be able to circulate freely, historic cars must undergo an annual MOT and be insured.
  2. Historic cars will have to pay traffic fees ranging from 50 to 200 euros, while the corresponding motorcycles will have to pay from 25 to 50 euros. The amount of the fees is set according to the following:
  • Passenger cars of historical interest with an engine capacity of up to 999 cubic centimeters will pay a traffic tax of 50 euros.
  • Passenger cars of historical interest with a displacement of 1,000 cubic centimeters to 1,999 cubic centimeters will pay a traffic tax of 100 euros.

In case of violations of the K.O.K., the prescribed sanctions and administrative fines that apply to all vehicles are imposed.
