What you need to know

Below you will find some frequently asked questions about our car import services, registration fees and exemptions we offer.

The registration fee is the basic tax on the import of a car into Greece. It is calculated using a coefficient on the pre-tax retail price of the vehicle and varies depending on:

  • the anti-pollution category (Euro 6, 5, etc.),
  • the value of the car (scaled factors 4%–71%, etc.),
  • CO₂ emissions (additional charge or discount up to –5% or +100%),
  • the age and mileage (impairments).

The final amount depends on:

  • Original pre-tax retail value of the car
  • Equipment and add-ons (packages, manufacturer options)
  • Months of circulation (age) and kilometers traveled (depreciation)
  • Anti-pollution technology (e.g. EURO 5 vs EURO 4)
  • Engine displacement
