Importing cars from abroad

The idea of importing a car from abroad initially seems very difficult and dangerous because it is not easy to see the car we liked up close. We may have found on mobile.de, autoscout24.de or any other car sales page a car exactly like we want that looks perfect in the photos. Immediately after that come second thoughts that scare us and probably prevent us from continuing to dream that we can easily and safely import it. That is exactly where CarForYou.gr comes in, with experience in this specific subject since 2007, to take care of everything for the import of the car you liked.

Once you have chosen the car you want to buy, CarForYou.gr comes to take over its inspection through German engineering experts or alternatively, if the circumstances require it or you wish, through an official dealership.

Analytical Control

The inspection is carried out by a mechanic, specialized in car inspections, always with the consent of the car seller. It is carried out methodically, without omissions and is of course documented in a technical inspection report. This report contains photos, measurements and observations from the inspection and is sent to you in order to obtain a complete picture of the condition of the car. At this point, of course, we operate as a support for any questions and clarification of the inspection findings.

The following are the parts of the car that are checked:

Car details

The completeness and authenticity of the vehicle documents are checked. The documents necessary for import are a point that requires special attention as there are frequent legislative changes that we should be aware of. The chassis number of the car is of course a number that is checked in relation to the one indicated in the car's license and is of course also transferred to the technical inspection report so that there is no attempt to deliver a different vehicle than the one checked. The same chassis number is of course also checked on the car's sales invoice.

Accident control

The thickness of the car's paint is measured with an electronic thickness gauge. Any deviations and/or increased paint thickness indicate paintwork and therefore a possible crash. A thorough inspection of the car is carried out, any scratches or potholes that are likely to exist are noted, photographed and sent via the technical inspection report.

Corrosion control

The problem of rust is something that many fear in cars from northern countries and of course the relevant inspection is required. The inspection focuses on the floor of the car where its appearance is observed. For this reason, it is photographed and the photos are sent through the technical inspection report. In general, due to the fact that the cars that are imported are newer compared to the past and that anti-corrosion technology has made strides forward, the appearance of rust is not common and in most cases it is located in places such as screws, exhausts and generally in unpainted areas of the car, with the problem being more aesthetic than anything else.

Test drive

A test drive is carried out to determine the correct operation and behavior of the car on the road.

Checking for proper operation

The proper functioning of the car's parts such as transmission, brakes, lights, air conditioning, gearbox, battery, exhaust is checked, a visual check for leaks is performed, and an acoustic check for proper engine operation is performed. Anything that can be documented photographically is photographed and sent in the inspection report.

Equipment control

The car's equipment and its proper functioning are checked. In the event of any observation, it is marked with yellow soil when a small observation is detected or with red when there is a serious problem. Of course, the relevant description of the observation is made.

Tire condition

The brand, size, type of tire, and tread height are recorded. With this check, we can of course see the condition of the tires, but along with that, we also obtain other information, such as whether the car is “running” properly or whether the previous owner was consistent or not with the maintenance of the car.

Sitting room

The condition of the interior is recorded in terms of damage and any deficiencies. Any observations are photographed and added to the vehicle's technical inspection report using a calibrated arrow or ruler so that the extent of the problem can be easily understood.

Additional checks

In the event that our policy regarding the audits we perform does not cover you and you want an additional audit from any body, we are able to satisfy your requirements.

Analytical Control

Each car is methodically checked at all important points

Why is control necessary?

01.

Market Security

You know exactly the condition of the car before purchasing and avoid unpleasant surprises.

02.

Risk Avoidance

Identifying hidden problems that are not visible in the photos or description.

03.

Negotiation

The information from the inspection can be used to negotiate the price.
